Baby boy killed in dog attack in Colchester

Essex police say a baby boy has died and another child has been seriously injured after being attacked by a dog in Colchester.
The attack happened in Tara Close, Harwich Road, on Wednesday afternoon.
Chief Inspector Elliot Judge said: "This is a tragic incident that Essex police is investigating.
"Specially trained officers are providing support to the family at this difficult time.
"We will not be making any further statement at this time and would ask the media to respect the family's privacy".
A woman was also treated for minor injuries.

Tight security as Abia council polls hold today

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, has said the State Police command will provide adequate security across the seventeen local government areas of the State to ensure a smooth conduct of the local government election today. He stated that the Nigerian constitution guarantees that there must be adequate security during elections at the local councils because the people at the grassroots were involved.
