Lady Gaga will headline the Super Bowl halftime show next year

It's official: Lady Gaga will be performing at 2017's Super Bowl halftime show. US Weekly rumored the news earlier this month, but it was never actually confirmed by the NFL or Gaga herself. Today, Lady Gaga tweeted that she will, in fact, be the headlining act on February 5th.
This year's halftime show was a perplexing but aesthetically stimulating combination of Coldplay, BeyoncĂ©, and Bruno Mars wearing a button-up trash bag. BeyoncĂ©'s performance was one of the most exciting the Super Bowl has seen in a while, and it's going to be a tough act to follow.
Lady Gaga has an album coming out at the end of next month called Joanne, so it's likely much of her performance will be dedicated to new material.
