A 23-year-old Nigerian student who has been certified mentally ill, Femi Nandap, has been handed an indefinite hospital order by a United Kingdom Crown court after he pleaded guilty to murdering a lecturer, Dr. Jeroen Ensink in Islington, north London, in December 2015.

Daily Mail reports that Nandap who claimed he heard telepathic voices telling him he was the messiah, repeatedly stabbed the 41-year-old Dr. Ensink in the chest and back as he left his flat to post cards announcing the birth of his daughter just 10 days before.
Nandap, a resident of Woolwich, south London and who had been studying at the London School of Economics, allegedly admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility and was handed a hospital order without a time limit, meaning he would be confined to a psychiatric home indefinitely.
It was also learned that Nandap had earlier attacked a police officer with a knife and while on conditional bail, he traveled to Nigeria where he received mental health care but, however, stopped taking anti-psychotic drugs before he returned to the UK in October 2015.
The Old Baily Crown Court heard that Nandap's mental illness began after he began to use cannabis heavily while living in the United States.
